About the Role


As a Guidance Officer, your key priorities will include:

Priority 1:
Identification, support and therapeutic intervention planning for students with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The Guidance Officer-Student Wellbeing will deliver therapeutic support to students with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. This may include referring and liaising with external agencies to provide wraparound support system for the student.


Priority 2:
Provide advice and counselling on educational, behavioural, vocational, personal, social, family and mental health and wellbeing issues. This will be done through ongoing counselling support of students referred for mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Counselling may be provided individually or in a group format.


Priority 3:

Promotion, prevention, awareness and capacity building regarding mental health and wellbeing within the school community and school leadership teams.
