About the Role

The Program Administrator plays a key role in the effective functioning of the Centre for Mental Health Nursing (CentreMHN) within the Melbourne School of Health Sciences (MSHS).

The Centre is funded by the Department of Health and Human Services and is a focal hub for Victoria's mental health nursing workforce.


  • Act as the first point of contact for all CentreMHN enquiries.
  • Provide administrative support for all finance and people culture activities for the Centre, including academic staff contract coordination.
  • Actively contribute to relevant communities of practice to support information sharing, best practice and professional development.
  • Coordinate the Centre's educational and workforce development programs, including workshops, forums, conferences, and research programs.
  • Endtoend event management, including registration responses, venue bookings, equipment, catering security/onsite support, promotional correspondence, collation of conference materials, coordination of function set up and pack away.
  • Develop project plans, monitor and manage expenditure and activity against budget, and regularly report on status and progress.

Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is comfortable working in a dynamic, busy team.

You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop strong and cooperative relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.


You will also have:

  • A degree with subsequent relevant experience, or extensive experience in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • The ability to operate independently and exercise initiative and good judgement to ensure the timely delivery of programs and services.
