Role Summary


This is an exciting opportunity for people to join us at QBE during a growth phase in our NSW workers compensation division, in both our Nominal Insurer and TMF business units.


As a Case Manager you will be required to bring your best self to work as you take on the responsibilities of the end-to-end claims management under the NSW Workers Compensation scheme.

You will assist injured workers with their injury management and return to work plans whilst maintaining relationships built on trust with all stakeholders involved.

About the opportunity

The role of a Case Manager will see you return people to health and work with empathy and expertise.

You will support our customers on their return-to-work journey by acting as the key point of contact for stakeholders, including injured workers, their employers, doctors, and other medical professionals.

You will be empowered to manage a portfolio of workers compensation claims in line with scheme regulation whilst delivering a holistic case management approach to provide positive customer connections.

The goal is to seek the best possible outcome for all parties involved, whilst supporting them through what is often an emotionally challenging time.


Key activities as a Case Manager include:

  • Effectively set expectations, communicate and educate injured workers and employers
  • Work in partnership with the injured worker and their employer to manage their journey in returning to work
  • Ensure timeframes and compliance measures are adhered to in line with legislation and company policy
  • Meet and work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to achieve best practice outcomes


We have a comprehensive New Starter Pathway training program and ongoing coaching for those with experience, and those that are new to the Workers Compensation industry, this will commence on the first day of your employment and will require some flexibility for the first 4 weeks whilst we provide you with the appropriate training to support you in establishing a solid foundation for success.

The New Starter Pathway will support and enable your growth in line with our four proficiency levels affording you the opportunity to guide your career progression through the different levels including Foundational, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert.


Following the onboarding program, the role will be hybrid with 3 days' work from home and two days in the office, to allow connection and to further embed your learning.
