The role
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Policy and Compliance.

Your role will create, develop and implement general financial policy which will guide the financial operations of Queensland Health in accordance with its strategic directions, visions, and intents.

Please note there are two temporary positions currently available in this team.
The successful person


You will have demonstrated:


  • Demonstrated knowledge of government financial legislation and policies; Australian accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead general policy and financial policy development in a large complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and implement financial policies, standards and concepts, in line with Queensland Health and government direction.
  • Proven issue identification, analytical and research skills, problem solving skills and a demonstrated ability to develop innovative, sensitive, practical solutions and provide strategic advice to complex issues.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with senior personnel and maintain positive and effective client and team relationships.
  • A relevant qualification in accounting, business or similar would be highly regarded but not essential.
