ASIS is Australia's overseas secret intelligence collection agency. Its mission is to protect and

promote Australia's vital interests through the provision of intelligence services as directed by the
Australian Government. Its work can involve collecting intelligence relating to national security,
international relations and economic issues. It also contributes to Australia's coordinated national
efforts against terrorism, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and trans-national issues such
as people smuggling.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Looking for an opportunity to develop and manage a robust business continuity function in a dynamic
organisation? Interested in making a difference? Enjoy working with interesting, passionate and
energetic people? ASIS is looking for self-motivated and experienced EL1 officers to manage its
Business Continuity Strategy team.

ASIS employs people in a wide range of corporate roles, including Business Continuity. These roles
require dynamic team players who enjoy working with a diverse range of stakeholders and delivery
teams. ASIS is looking for corporate specialists in who will be able to deliver outcomes and meet tight
relevant business continuity planning experience, coordination and administration skills, strong verbal
and written communication skills and influencing skills.

You will have a proven track record of managing competing priorities and strong stakeholder
engagement skills, including demonstrated ability in coordinating workshops and providing formal
and informal verbal and written briefs to senior management. You will have experience in leading
teams, including team-building and people-development skills.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will lead a team responsible for managing the ASIS Business Continuity program; developing and
supporting the capabilities of ASIS managers to prepare to respond to a business disruption; and
providing the senior executive with assurance on ASIS's capability to delivery essential functions
during and after a disruption. You will coordinate simulations and exercises to test and assess business
continuity across the Service. You will manage the workload of your team, including management of
team performance. You will also have significant stakeholder engagement and relationship
management responsibilities within ASIS.


EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
One or more of the following will be highly regarded:
Relevant tertiary qualifications;
Practical experience in delivering Business Continuity function key activities;
Experience in risk and change management;
Ability to manage ambiguity.
