We have lots of great stuff happening in our insurance business, over the last 12 months we have created several new senior leadership positions including a new EGM of Insurance, Head of Claims and Head of Strategy, Digital & Business Analytics and with their other colleagues in the Insurance Leadership Team, they are driving an agenda that will sharpen our strategic planning and execution, build and strengthen our digital strategy and get clearer on how we use analytics and business information to make better decisions.
A key
strategic growth pillar over the coming years is to further expand our partnerships with best-in-market Underwriting Agencies.**The newly created position of Manager, Underwriting Agencies will deliver on this Underwriting Agency strategy by identifying, evaluating, onboarding, and then managing Underwriting Agency partnerships and their operations.

Reporting to the Head of Reinsurance, Insurance Risk and Agencies this new and unique opportunity will bring together your strong insurance operations and governance skills and ability to build and grow strong long-term mutual profitability relationships and a successful diversified agency portfolio.


The core responsibilities are:


  • Lead, manage and develop key relationships with new and existing Underwriting Agencies and their executive teams, creating strong internal & external partnership approach to delivering mutual success.
  • Manage all Underwriting Agency operations and compliance, including ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements & internal policies through the establishment of frameworks, processes and audit approaches.
  • Lead annual Audits of operational processes, and of the Underwriting Agencies (with respect to Underwriting, Claims, Data security, etc as required).
  • Operational management & oversight, including bordereau processing, reconciliations and reporting on agency performance and governance and actions.
  • Chair regular performance & governance workshops with internal stakeholders, reinsurers and the Underwriting Agency partners.
  • Lead due diligence and onboarding of new Agencies and ensure compliance with regulatory regimes, including completion of all mandatory compliance training within defined timelines.
  • Identify and evaluate new Underwriting Agency partnerships, and prepare evaluations and business cases for new agencies.
  • Planning and the delivery of actions to support Agency partners to drive profitable growth.


Your core responsibilities in the role are underpinned by your experience in ensuring effective operations and governance in an insurer or underwriting agency.
