About the role
Blinq is looking for a Chief of Staff (CoS) to help build the company as it scales. The CoS will treat the company like a product, where employees are the user.

The role provides a unique vantage point within Blinq, allowing you to work with the entire team and have exposure to how the CEO thinks and makes decisions.

You will use this vantage point to improve processes and people.

The CoS will support the CEO and the broader team in the management of our
processes and
strategy

Processes - Better processes often help create better decisions. You will be responsible for many of Blinq's processes, including meetings, planning, internal comms and decision-making. As Blinq scales, you may need to redesign the processes you build every 6-12 months as teams and needs evolve.

Meetings - Based on your broad understanding of Blinq's strategic priorities and pressing issues, you will proactively set the agenda for company-wide 'Town Halls' and 'All Hands'. You will prepare any relevant materials and ensure everyone is prepared for the meeting, to make the best use of people's time.

Planning - The CoS is responsible for quarterly strategic planning, priority setting and alignment. This includes running company offsites to realign the team on company priorities. The CoS will also help with board meeting decks for the CEO as well as high-level planning for the business.

Internal comms - The CoS will proactively develop and manage an approach to internal communications and advise the CEO on any specific communication gaps.

Decision-making - The CoS will help the CEO make better decisions, more quickly, by designing decision-making frameworks to drive clarity on ownership, decision authority, and the process to get from question to answer.

Strategic Planning and Execution - Collaborate closely with the CEO and department heads to develop, refine, and implement strategic business plans. Facilitate cross-departmental coordination to ensure alignment with overall company objectives, driving initiatives that contribute to long-term operational excellence.

Investor Relations and Communication - Manage the preparation and distribution of regular investor updates to keep stakeholders informed and engaged. Play a pivotal role in crafting messages and presentations for investor meetings, ensuring financial data and strategic direction are clearly communicated and aligned with company growth objectives.

Vision Development and Leadership Support - Assist the CEO in shaping and articulating the company's vision and long-term goals. Provide analytical support for strategic decisions, and act as a sounding board for new ideas, helping to evaluate their feasibility and potential impact on the company's future.

Who you are:

  • What you've done in your career up to now is less important than the key skills needed in a CoS, including:
  • Comfortable in Chaos. Working in a startup is like skydiving while assembling the parachute on the way down. No task is too big, messy, or complex for you.
  • Ownership Mentality. At Blinq, we are owners, not renters. You'll have to be able to operate independently without specific direction on tasks, while also being highly collaborative and constantly sourcing feedback on the processes you're implementing.
  • Growth mindset. Passionate about creating, improving, monitoring and implementing process improvement. You'll need a commitment to getting better every single day.
  • Raw Intellectual Horsepower. The expert on multiple projects simultaneously and the ability to shift constantly from working in the business to working on the business.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills. Assertive and confident communicating with the CEO but equally being approachable and humble when communicating with the broader team and new hires.
  • Integrity. A nonnegotiable requirement of the role is treating confidential matters and private opinions as such.
