Description:

The Opportunity

The Housing Team Leader position plays a key leadership role in managing, growing and developing our operations in Tasmania.

Reporting to General Manager, Tasmania, the role will be to lead a housing team and work closely with the property team, community development team, and other critical internal and external stakeholders to provide the best opportunities for residents to sustain their tenancy.

The critical areas of responsibility will include.


  • Leadership and People Management
  • Delivery of Quality Housing Services
  • Management Reporting, Risk Management and Compliance
  • Effective Management of the Housing Portfolio


The role will ideally suit a person who is highly organised, resilient and passionate about leading a team of dedicated housing professionals in providing excellent customer service.

Skills and Experiences:


About You:


  • Qualification in social sciences, community housing, real estate or equivalent experience
  • Sound knowledge of or experience in the housing sector and a knowledge of tenancy and disability legislation and regulatory frameworks as it relates to housing management activities, including the Residential Tenancies Act
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team and maintaining a positive culture and highperforming team to achieve service, compliance and organisational objectives/outcomes.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of issues affecting socially disadvantaged groups including people experiencing homelessness, people living with disability, people with complex needs and people from a nonEnglish speaking background
  • Experience in preparing comprehensive management, business and/or regulatory reports on a range of housing and related management activities, including monitoring and reporting on arrears management issues.
  • Ability to liaise and negotiate confidently with internal and external stakeholders and clients and build positive, collaborative relationships for sustainable housing outcomes.
  • Capacity to lead and support change and innovation and deliver creative and leading practice solutions
  • Welldeveloped written and oral communication skills and proven experience in managing relationships with key stakeholders
