The Global Markets division is responsible for the Trading and Sales activities in Financial Markets encompassing all Foreign Exchange, Commodities, Fixed Income and Interest Rate products.

The purpose of the Global Markets Sales business is to enhance our client's success by making Global Markets easy to navigate.


Client Risk Solutions is a client facing business within Institutional Banking and Markets responsible for the transactional delivery of our full range of risk management products to corporate clients serviced at an overall relationship level by Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Agri and Local Business Banking.

It liaises with large and medium sized Australian-based companies as well as all Federal and NSW Government related clients (excluding local government authorities).


The advertised role provides Foreign Exchange (FX) and Interest Rate (IR) support to meet the needs of new clients within the Business Bank.

A large proportion of your time will be spent working with business partners jointly to bring on board new clients, across the FX space.


Do work that matters


You will be an integral team member who provides exceptional service and support to CBA customers and deliver client outcomes with respect to their on-going FX payment and cross product Risk Management needs.

Key tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Develop new business opportunities and grow existing business across the Business Bank space
  • Sale of FX/IR risk management products to a defined client base with the objective of meeting individual and team revenue growth targets
  • Develop strong relationships with business partners, colleagues and internal stakeholders
  • Assist other team members with deal identification, deal structure and closure
  • Actively gather, maintain and report knowledge of industry and market conditions, understand the financial impacts and proactively respond to client needs, utilising bank resources to meet these needs
  • Maintain knowledge of Bank and GM products inclusive of product enhancements, changes and competitive information
  • Maintain a continuous improvement approach for product, people, process and systems
  • Recommend and influence improvement opportunities
  • Own client complaints until resolved, and ensure these are managed in line with Bank and GM policy
  • Liaise with colleagues and ensure key stakeholders are engaged on proposed transactions and opportunities in a timely fashion

  • Strong sales ethic developed across the financial services space
  • Understanding of the industry sectors and the key drivers affecting the industry.
  • Track record of building and leveraging effective relationships across an organisation to deliver against financial and risk objectives
  • A strong client centric mindset focused on understanding and meeting clients' needs
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Technical industry experience.
  • Strong sense of urgency and a proactive approach as well as being highly organised and efficient, with an ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
  • Great communication skills
  • Tertiary qualification in finance or business related field and AFMA qualification desirable
