We are currently looking for an
Assistant Maintenance Officer to join us at our Moonee Ponds Home on a
Part -Time basis and be a part of our growing organisation.


About the Role


You will be responsible for assisting the Maintenance officer with a variety of maintenance tasks and checks across the facility.

The role will bring you into contact with our residents which will provide you the opportunity to deliver positive outcomes.

You will be responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance program as set out by our organisation.

You will be required to complete day to day maintenance tasks to keep the work environment safe for residents and employees.


Qualifications & experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and empathetic communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders both verbally and in writing
  • General maintenance including, but not limited to, patch & painting, minor carpentry, minor plumbing, changing of light globes, minor repairs to wheelchairs, beds and various residents equipment
  • Assist in overseeing compliance relating to fire safety and accreditation
  • Supervise external contractors
  • Maintain the workshop, plant rooms and store rooms in a clean and tidy manner and maintain all tools & equipment in a safe manner
  • Ability to operate as part of a multidisciplinary team, promoting an engaging and inclusive Home environment
  • Customer service focused and committed to achieving optimal outcomes for our residents, families and organisation
  • Demonstrated organisational and timemanagement skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Is a team player and is also able to work autonomously
  • Previous experience in aged care and similar highly desirable but not essential
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of residents, employees and visitors

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Ensure at all times that risks are appropriately managed and in line with policies and procedures
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes
  • Maintain all documentation as required by CraigCare's policies and procedures
  • Support the Home Manager in multiple duties including regulatory compliance requirements and more
  • Report all incidents immediately and follow corrective action directives
  • Collaborate with the National Building Services Manager and other CraigCare Maintenance Officer's to ensure processes are reviewed and improved where appropriate
