We are seeking two (2) Risk and Assurance Specialists to work in the Perth and Brisbane Procurement hubs. In these newly created roles, you will help increase risk maturity across the Procurement function for this region. In addition, these roles will help identify, assess, and prioritise potential risks that could impact our objectives, including compliance with our procurement and regulatory requirements

Reporting to the Manager

  • Risk and Assurance, the remit of this role includes but is not limited to:
  • Providing risk management support and insights to the Category teams, including conducting risk assessments and facilitating risk workshops to ensure compliance with procurement processes, regulations, and laws specific to each category
  • Supporting of Risk and Assurance Manager in establishing and performing 1st Line of Defence monitoring of critical controls
  • Building risk capability within the Procurement team including preparing and delivering training when required such as procurement governance training
  • Assisting with the preparation of key governance forums, primarily the Procurement Risk and Audit Committee (RAC)
  • Coordinating Procurement risk performance reporting, internally and externallyProvide administrative support in relation to supplier investigations and as required

  • Practical stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence, build and maintain collaborative relationships across leadership and peer levels

Desirable:


  • Experience in risk management, focusing on procurement, logistics and contract management
  • An understanding of Rio Tinto Global Procurement practices
