Data Analyst
***We are currently partnering with a QLD State Government Department to recruit a Data Analyst on a contract basis through to 2nd August 2024

The role

The department relies on data from various core systems such as SAP, SAP Plant Maintenance, Agresso, and their own core system to make informed decisions.

The utilisation of reporting tools like Power BI is varied. The quality of data, analysis, reporting, and ICT functionality is essential.

Given the extensive asset base and information throughout the organisation, a Project Team is forming to leverage current data, finance, analytics, reporting, ICT capabilities, and upcoming initiatives.

In this role you will be part of a small project Team of data, financial and data analysts from across the Agency.

Responsibilities
- analyse and evaluate asset data sources, structures, governance, and reporting needs.

Analyse commercial data, including budgets, expenditures, and forecasts.
Model business processes and identify process improvement opportunities.
Identify issues, risks, and benefits of proposed solutions, outlining business impacts.
Create functional specifications and estimate costs for solutions.
Simplify technical information for team understanding.
Implement and test solutions, supporting business transition and change establishment.
Coordinate internal stakeholders and oversee delivery of an Information and Technology roadmap.
Draft briefing notes, presentations, and memos for internal approval of data and technology solutions.
Engage and collate department requirements for asset data analytics and reporting.
Research and prepare draft reports and materials for senior management submission.

Skills Required:

Decisive in prioritising requirements, scoping, and assessing solution viability.
Proficient in analytics, identifying data trends and insights.
Meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.
Confidently presents complex ideas with clarity.
Strong problemsolving and communication skills, including stakeholder management.
