About the role:


A rare and exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated professional to provide high level administrative support to the Mayor and Councillors.

You will work closely with the Mayor and Councillors in a fast paced, sensitive environment, where your personable style needs to be adaptive to those who will rely heavily on your judgement, time management and extensive administration skills.

You will be someone who is a great communicator and is highly intuitive, who also demonstrates integrity and sound judgement.

You'll thrive on learning and understanding the objectives and strategic advocacy of the organisation and using that knowledge to be successful in your role.

You will be supporting our Mayor and Councillors with your forward thinking, intuitive and highly organised and prioritised approach.

You will be heavily relied on for the day to day running of the Mayor's commitments, communications and diary management using your proactive thinking and exceptional customer service.

You will often be liaising with various internal and external stakeholders, community members, Government representatives and Ministerial offices.

You will have support and guidance from the other members within the Office of the General Manager to assist when needed, and in turn, will be a collaborative team member who is happy to jump in and help out.

Your previous professional experience must demonstrate your integrity, diplomacy and political awareness when working at this senior level, along with diary management, high level written and verbal communication skills and a strong commitment to living the organisations brand and values.


  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or proven experience in the provision of executive administrative support to a senior level.
  • High level organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • A high degree of political astuteness.
  • Advanced proficiency in a range of relevant administrative and corporate systems.
  • Technologically proficient, with the ability to troubleshoot.
  • Demonstrated experience in researching and preparing original briefing information, presentations, speaking notes, annotated agendas, minutes, reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to develop highly effective processes to aid efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a range of stakeholders.
  • Flexible attitude to responsibilities and working hours.
  • C Class Drivers Licence.
