Position Information:

Springwood High School is proudly comprehensive in nature and purpose located on Dharug land.

The school has a current enrolment of 652 students, with 6% Aboriginal students, offering challenging and diverse learning opportunities with high expectations of all.

These opportunities extend across academic, sporting and cultural domains. Strong educational leadership, ongoing professional learning and dedicated teachers serve to create a positive, supportive and dynamic learning environment.

Year 11 and 12 currently participate in a combined senior curriculum. Springwood High School has a proud legacy of HSC excellence across all faculties.

Springwood High School has an off-campus support unit located at Glenbrook that has 3 ED classes.


Selection Criteria:

In addition to the general selection criteria,

  • Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively and effectively as a member of a senior executive team in leading a culture of high expectations for all staff and students.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate reflective evidencebased initiatives, practices and strategies that lead to school improvement and innovation.
  • Outstanding communication and organisational skills with the capacity to establish and sustain authentic educational and Aboriginal cultural partnerships within the school and broader community.

General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
