WPHU has been established to strengthen the public health response to infectious diseases and other health issues in the Western metropolitan region of Melbourne.

The Unit is part of a system of three metropolitan and six regional Public Health Units to provide a new state-wide system of public health delivery and oversight.

Initially responsible for Covid-related public health control activities, WPHU is taking on increasing responsibility for other communicable disease and health promotion activities, as part of the State's overall public health response.

About you
To be successful in this role you will be someone with

Passion for public health research and knowledge translation
A track record of conducting public health research including experience of preparing grant submissions, ethics submissions, data management and statistical analysis
The ability to establish internal and external networks specific to public health, research and knowledge translation
Experience in delivery of education and research training
Publication and research dissemination experience

Role specifications
Full-time or part-time fixed term position until 30 June 2023.
