KBR in Australia has been involved in working with Defence for the last 20 years, and has developed a core competency in systems engineering, systems and enterprise architecture, project management, training solutions and integrated logistic support and provides this expertise to support a wide range of exciting Defence projects and clients.


The Opportunity
KBR's Land Domain team are currently seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support our Land 2110 client.

Land 2110 is the Australian Defence Forces (ADFs) Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence (CBRND) Capability Facilities project.


The aim of the project is to provide new and upgraded facilities at 14 sites nationwide to support the training of personnel against exposure to Toxic Industrial Materials and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear weapons.

The Technical Writer will be responsible for the review and update a number of Technical Documents for the project.

Key tasks include (but are not limited to):

  • Authoring of Complete Equipment Schedules (CES).
  • Review and update of related / relevant Technical Publications.
  • Technical Data Remediation (as required).
  • Review and update of EMEI's (as required).

Required Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
To be successful in this role you will ideally possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing technical documentation in a Defence Environment
  • Demonstrated and highly developed written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Ability to develop technical documentation in a structured S1000D writing environment
  • Working knowledge of Defence Technical Writing standards (S1000D etc.)
  • Familiarity with Defence Logistics and Inventory Management systems (MILIS, CMT-L etc.)
