About the Role
Council's Waste & Resource Management Branch delivers high quality outcomes in the areas of collection, recycling and disposal of waste.
As the Technical Officer, you will be responsible for implementing the Prescribed Waste Infrastructure development assessment process and future staged infrastructure design and installation of the Automated Waste Collection System (AWCS) for the new Maroochydore City Centre.
This position is a key role in a small team with diverse responsibilities also to coordination and delivery of a significant capital works and waste services contract programs including procurement.
Your duties will include:
- Provide technical advice and solutions for the Maroochydore city centre AWCS including liaison and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Administration of the AWCS design, supply and supervise contract for the staged delivery of the city centre underground pipe network and associated infrastructure including, forecasting costs, managing budget, keeping records, revieweing deliverables, and monitoring progress.
- Deliver projects and programs in a way that ensures that the outcomes support Council's broader waste and resource management objectives.
About you
As a professional you will possess a recognised qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Environmental Science or a combination of experience, expertise and competence sufficient to perform all duties of the position.
You will have experience in development assessment including preparing conditioned approvals for building appliations, and have the skills to prepare the assessment processes guidelines, and codes.
You will have experience in engineering or related fields with project management and technical skills in successful delivery of infrastructure projects.
You will have skills for preparing contracts and specifications, experience in tendering/procurement, and be well versed in contract management related to infrastrucutre or service delivery.
You have well developed skills for risk management, financial management, managing competing priorities, and working with multi-dsciplinary stakeholders.
You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills with particular emphasis in the areas of consultation, building effective relationships, conflict resolution and assertiveness in order to drive progress and outcomes.
