We are currently recruiting for an experienced
Tunnel Assurance Lead to join us on our Melbourne based Rail Network Alliance Project.

About the opportunity:

We are currently on the hunt for a Tunnels Assurance Lead to join us on the Rail Network Alliance.

This role sits within the Engineering Assurance team that is in the process of delivering the CBTC rail system on surface and within the tunnel.

If you are an engineer with a passion for rail-work, this will be an exciting opportunity to express your interest and exert your knowledge on safety and quality management.

As a Tunnels Assurance Lead working on a high-profile Rail Infrastructure Project, you will need to be bold and innovative with your ideas in terms of ensuring safety is practiced within all areas of the project


Some of the things you will be doing:

  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and creating strategies by ensuring that the engineering assurance processes are agreed to and implemented on the project
  • Facilitate and manage Dynamic test and integrated assurance arguments while engaging with the other work Packages as well as RTO.
  • Contribute to the ultimate deliveries of the Safety Program; the System Safety Cases on Generic Application level and Specific Application level
  • Prepare and report on workshops with other external stakeholders and ensure correct transfer of hazards and controls between packages
  • Plan, prepare and undertake technical safety analysis of the MTP (RSA) System.
  • Record hazards and corresponding controls in a Hazard Log and ensure that the linked Safety Requirements are implemented by the project.
  • Prepare and manage Hazard Analysis Workshops
  • Plan, implement and report on the processes and artefacts required for safety related processes
  • Implement work instructions, review product and subsystem safety related artefacts, provide constructive review feedback and determine if produced safety evidence meets the need of the System Safety Case.
  • Collaborate with Design Package Engineers, System Engineers, Test Engineers, and similar roles to ensure Safety Engineering and Safety Processes are implemented throughout the project life cycle.
  • Work with the Independent Validator and the Independent Safety Assessor.

You have:


  • Degree qualified in engineering, or other science related field
  • 10 years of work experience in engineering industry, preferably in System Safety Assurance
  • Experience of working in a safety critical industry, with experience of safety and assurance
  • Railway Systems and Signalling Systems experience is beneficial
