About the role

To provide clinical anaesthetic services meeting requirements of the Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists Training Program.


Some of the key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Provide high quality clinical care to patients of Ipswich Hospital and meet requirements of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) Provisional Fellowship training program.
  • Attend/prepare tutorials, participate and present at Quality Assurance meetings, and participate in onthejob training in order to meet ANZCA requirements.
  • Act as a role mode to junior medical officers through providing and become involved in prevocational educational programs.
  • This position may require you undertaking rostered overtime and oncall duties.
  • Be responsible for delivering/administering the anaesthetic registrar roster.
  • Be aware of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS Standards) and relate them to this job position and more widely to the West Moreton Hospital and Health Service.
  • Actively contribute to maintaining a safe workplace that values the health and safety of coworkers, clients and visitors.
  • Actively contribute to developing and maintaining a culture where staff are vigilant to risks to themselves, their coworkers, clients and visitors (including health and safety, business and operational risks).
  • Actively participate in the Health Service 1:1 conversation process.

  • Peri-
Operative Fellowship: 1 Position (6 Months)
Regional Fellowship: 1 Position (6 Months)
Anaesthetics Fellowship: 1 Position (1 year)

About you

  • Demonstrated clinical and technical expertise with appropriate knowledge, skills and ability to deliver quality care in Anaesthetics.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and lead other staff.
  • High level oral and written communication skills and the ability to work and liaise with other health professionals.
  • Demonstrated commitment to principles of quality improvement, patient safety and clinical governance.
  • Demonstrated commitment to education and research including a demonstrated personal commitment to continuing medical education.

Mandatory Requirements:


  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
