Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities.

Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment, and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.

About this role


To assist and work with Macquarie Fields Team, to lead, manage and develop the youth team with the oversight of the Mission Leader in order to see TSA vision and mission come to fruition.

Key components of this role is to lead and coordinate Youth, Develop and Implement a Discipleship Pathway for the centre.

And establish a youth Community table.

Create connections between disadvantaged youth in the community and church, working with disadvantaged youth in the community through school programs and partnering with our other programs.

You will successfully

  • Lead and Mange Youth Ministry Team (68 Volunteers)
  • Ensure competency of the Youth Ministry Team (Safe salvos, WWCC, Volunteer requirements)
  • Work with the Mission Leaders to create and implement discipleship pathways for youth
  • Establish Community table and opportunity for new Christians or those exploring faith
  • Oversee the development of youth specific life groups
  • Coordinate evangelistic events for disadvantaged youth
  • Provide pastoral support to foster a positive, cohesive and effective culture
  • Develop service opportunities for youth such as the Red Shield Appeal, Community Coop
  • Research and determine opportunities to connect with disadvantaged youth in the wider community.
  • Partner with our current youth programs.
This is a permanent, part-time (22.8hrs per week) position, located in Macquarie Fields, NSW. This is an award free role.

You will have

  • A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army. An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel.
  • Commitment to gaining qualifications in Ministry, Theology or related discipline.
  • Experience working with disadvantaged Youth and Young Adults
  • Experience leading teams and managing people
  • Valid NSW (WWCC) Working with Children Checks
  • Current Driver License
  • Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • Professional development required to maintain skills for the role.
  • Willingness to undertake further training.
