Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive and business support to BCS management through advice, problem solving, analysis and strategic thinking.
  • Provide central contact for and highquality business advice and support on a range of financial, human resource, corporate governance and other administrative issues to BCS management, staff and senior executive within the Department.
  • Coordinate corporate reporting requirements, including financial reports, human resource management reports, performance monitoring, estimates papers, annual reporting, strategic and business planning, risk registers, business continuity planning and workforce planning.
  • Prepare, analyse, monitor and manage the preparation of budget planning, cash flows, forecasting and financial statements in consultation with corporate Finance and provide high level advice to BCS management on issues of importance relating to the financial operations of BCS, including the identification of any variances or trends.
  • Provide advice, consult and collaborate with BCS management and the corporate Human Resources team on human resource matters, including establishment and staff reporting and variations, performance management and, work place health and safety and maintain appropriate records to ensure compliance with departmental and establishment management policy, delegations and approved organisational structures.
  • Manage all significant procurement projects by working with corporate Procurement to ensure alignment with organisational and Queensland Government policies and procedures, including taking responsibility for procurement plans, tender development, tender management, evaluation advice, contract negotiations, development of contract management plans, awarding of contracts and ongoing contract and vendor management (supplier relationship management).
  • Liaise with Information Technology Services to provide assistance in fault resolution and corporate information technology planning as well as the maintenance of service delivery standards.
  • Develop, implement, and continually review strategies, policies and processes to facilitate the effective utilisation of financial, IT and human resources to support the achievement of business objectives.
  • Act as BCS' Contact Officer for Privacy and Right to Information as well as managing the Complaints process.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to meet expectations; ensure organisational accountability; and improve business practices and service delivery; and
  • Undertake discrete projects and other duties as required.
