What You Will Be Doing
Peninsula Health is seeking a dedicated Health Information Services Compliance and Standards Manager to lead our efforts in maintaining the integrity, accessibility, and functionality of our health information systems.
As the Health Information Services Compliance and Standards Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing compliance initiatives, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring adherence to evolving regulations.
Collaborating with various stakeholders, you will implement effective compliance strategies to mitigate risks related to data privacy, security, and integrity.
Additionally, you will support the HIS team in implementing and maintaining our Peninsula Care Plan, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in health information management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives related to My Health Record, including training packages and clinical documents uploads working group.
- Develop and implement the Digitised Activity Plan to enhance clinical documentation workflows and accessibility of the clinical record.
- Support system integration to improve clinical documentation workflows and ensure the integrity and accessibility of the clinical record.
- Facilitate workflow with the HIS clerical team, including support and maintenance of associated service desk templates and reports.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Implement, maintain, and provide ongoing support for the HIS Peninsula Care Plan.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of coded inpatient episodes meeting internal and external coding deadlines.
- Participate in an ongoing auditing program to improve coding and maximise revenue results.
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
- Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff including external partners.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work alone and as a member of the team
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Digitised Medical Record (Infomedix CPF).
- Ability to lead change effectively.
- Working knowledge of quality assurance methods, tools, and techniques
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Health Information Manager
- Demonstrated commitment to high quality outcomes
