About the role


An exciting leadership opportunity for the management and delivery of quality learning and assessment programs across the Division to contribute to the achievement of performance planning objectives as well as developing industry specific occupational and behavioural capabilities required of staff.


You will work within the Brush Farm Corrective Services Academy (BFCSA), which is a positive learning environment with inclusive leadership which results in positive outcomes for all those in the team.

BFCSA is based in Eastwood, in the northwest of Sydney and can be reached via public transport or motor vehicle.

With ample parking on site, it is a great base to work from with your dynamic team.


What you'll do


The Manager of Operational Management Training Unit needs to be flexible, empathetic and passionate about managing both staff and learners across two streams of training: Offender Services and Programs and Custodial Case Management.

Maintaining alignment between the training and industry practice is a key challenge of the role and requires expertise to manage and navigate.


To succeed in the role, you need to have strengths in collaborative consultation with industry experts and have experience in and ability to develop positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.


What we're looking for


Experience in a contemporary corrections environment will assist in understanding the work of leading both Services and Programs and Custodial Case Management Officer training and will greatly inform your leadership in the role.


Demonstration of the following is required:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or its equivalent)
  • Previous experience in a similar role but looking to take that next step
  • Relevant qualifications (or demonstrated equivalence) and vocational currency in training delivery areas.
