The General Manager (Transport Strategy and Planning) plays an integral role for TMR in providing leadership in transport strategy development and strategic transport planning to ensure the TMR meets Queensland's future transport needs.

The General Manager leads the provision of strategic advice and coordinates the integration of wider government planning initiatives and long-term planning that identifies and delivers sustainable community outcomes.


This challenging role requires leadership and effective collaboration with other TMR divisions, State and Federal government departments, Government Owned Corporations (GOCs) and in particular partnerships with industry to ensure an integrated approach to strategy development and transport planning which aligns with agreed government outcomes and priorities.

As an integral member of the Policy, Planning and Investment (PPI) division's executive team, you will be responsible for leading a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives including playing a key part in shaping the transport strategy for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games,


As a senior executive, you will be assessed according to a number of key accountability perspectives, including financial, stakeholder and outcome, internal business and learning and growth.


The position reports to the Deputy Director-General (Policy, Planning and Investment) and has four direct reports - Executive Director (Transport Planning Projects); Executive Director (Statewide Transport Planning Management); Executive Director (Governance, Freight and Partnerships) and Manager.
