Our client is a global Mining and Processing company, due to continued expansion they are now looking for a Manager Process to join their team based South of the River.

The purpose of this position is to lead the Process team in providing technical input and support to the production team to achieve continuous production.


About this role Key Responsibilities**:


  • Establish and embed systems and processes to effectively manage the technical requirements of the refinery
  • Oversee development of effective plant rundown and runup plans to meet process, maintenance and production objectives
  • Champion the utilization of the MoC (Management of Change) process to safely implement plant changes
  • Create effective process trends and data presentation to facilitate effective refinery process control
  • Lead the work to produce battery grade quality product on a consistent basis
  • Work closely with the Head Office technical team to monitor process performance and address critical issues
  • Accountable for laboratory operation and performance
  • Responsible for improving operational performance via process improvements and relevant capital projects
  • Ensure yourself and team members carry out task and workplace inspections to meet safety KPIs
  • Provide process technical input into production forecasts and short and longterm production planning activities.
  • Compile the process elements of the annual budget and track performance against these targets throughout the year
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and/or reduce operating expenditure on a justifiable basis
  • Work with the PCS team to maximize the utilization of auto and cascade loops in the control system to help achieve stable, consistent refinery operation
  • Continuously explore opportunities to automate the control of the plant
  • Develop the process control parameters for the field and Control room operators and provide procedures and training to ensure they understand and implement them
  • Provide accurate and timely metallurgical accounting reports

About you Key Requirements**:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher (Chemical Engineering or Equivalent).
  • 15+ years' professional experience within the industry.
  • 3+ years' experience in leading a process team within an operations environment is essential.
  • Experience in similar refinery processes will be highly regarded. Strong technical knowledge of refining unit operations is essential.
  • Experience in the commissioning and rampup of a greenfields plant will be highly regarded.
  • Experience working successfully with a diverse people will be considered advantageous.
