The opportunity
Our client is a community focused federal government agency.

They have an exciting opportunity available for multiple APS 6 and EL1 level Finance Officers to join the Financial Control Branch in Supporting the financial management of the Agency and Scheme, including providing insightful financial reporting to enable strategic decision making.

12-month initial Labour Hire contracts with the opportunity to extend.

APS6 level role offering an hourly rate of $ Super, with the EL1 offering a daily rate of $ Super.

These positions will be based out of Richmond or Geelong.

This is a hybrid position, offering 2 days working from home, with the remaining 3 on site. 37.5-hour work weeks.


Your responsibilities as an APS6 will include:

  • Facilitating transaction processing in the systems to ensure financial data is accurate and complete
  • Extracting and analysing data from SAP and other financial systems to resolve enquiries
  • Preparing accurate and timely management reports as required
  • Providing input into the development of Standard Operating Procedures for the team, including process mapping requirements
  • Working with key stakeholders to support various project initiatives

Your responsibilities as an EL1 will include:

  • Reviewing and managing components of the Agency's trial balance using Systems Applications and Products software (SAP), providing monthly and annual reporting in Central Budget Management System (CBMS) to the Department of Finance.
  • Delivering the Agency's Budget and various Finance projects
  • Delivering various monthend financial reporting and analysis.
  • Partnering with teams within and external to the branch to provide general accounting and strategic financial advice.
  • Managing and updating relevant Agency costing models and preparing costings for budget rounds as required.
  • Managing and maintaining Agency AAIs and other financial policy.
  • Developing and presenting a range of written material of a financial and business nature, including correspondence, briefs and reports.

About you
-
Australian citizenship is a requirement to be eligible for this position:

  • Experience in working with SAP financial systems
  • Experience in SAS Enterprise Guide (including coding with SAS and SQL)
  • Experience with a variety of programming languages (R, Python etc)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in developing reports & dashboards for presenting to Senior Management
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience in financial reporting or working with financial information
  • Ability to interpret and transform data
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in complex problem solving and issues management
