About the Opportunity

The Producer is responsible for the coordination, production and delivery of a range of new and existing Audience Engagement programs, designed for a variety of ages.

In addition, the Producer plays a pivotal role in event coordination and operations, working on live/onsite and digital/remote programs and events.

The Producer is accountable for the following measurable outcomes:

  • Working collaboratively across the Audience Engagement branch to ensure the production and delivery of high-quality online, onsite and hybrid audience experiences within designated time frames and expectations.
  • Ensuring the creation of operational processes and documentation, such as project timelines, schedules, running sheets, venue logistics, artist liaison.
  • Playing an active and collaborative role in the project team during the development of new programs to plan for and lead the production and operational delivery.
  • Leading the delivery of fantastic experiences, for audiences and stakeholders, through seamless program delivery (in person and online).
  • Resolution of any operational or program maintenance issues, such as ensuring venue and event inventory is booked, event resources are prepared, and event staff are thoroughly briefed on event safety, procedures, and schedules.
  • Contributing to a process of continuous improvement by providing feedback to the event stakeholders and programming teams through internal process reviews.
About You


In addition, you will come to us with:

  • Tertiary education in arts/event/production management or appropriate relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in production and/or event management, preferably within an arts environment to support a broad range of clients.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in coordination of technical requirement (such as lighting, audio, vison, staging) for live and online events.
  • Previous experience in working with and adhering to OH&S relevant to public venues, including working within the constraints of the OH&S Act regarding safe workplace practices.
  • Demonstrated experience working efficiently and collaboratively in team environment to develop new program and lead in production and operational delivery.
  • State Library Victoria is a childsafe organisation. A valid Working with Children Check will be required before commencing.
