A bit about our opportunity:


As a member of the Senior Leadership team, you will lead a team responsible for the delivery of strategic and informed communications and marketing that support the delivery of the City's services, brand management, stakeholder, community engagement as well as City events and Customer Experience.

You'll build a strong network of collaborative relationships with a long-term strategic approach to delivery of these services.


_ In this role, you take responsibility for:_

  • Driving the development and execution of the City's Strategic Plans and priorities
  • Providing expert advice on communication strategy, community engagement, media and customer experience to Senior Leadership
  • Leading and developing the City's Marketing, Brand and Communications Framework and related strategies
  • Leading and mentoring your team to foster a culture of organisational achievement and execution

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (such as Public Relations, Communications or Marketing)
  • Significant relevant experience at a Senior Level in large organisations (Local Government highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead highperforming teams, drive business outcomes, and handle challenges effectively.
  • Sound judgment, political awareness, and experience in managing organisational risks.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and a track record of implementing creative solutions.
  • Significant experience in engaging diverse stakeholders on complex and sensitive issues.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to communicate with diverse groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective presentation abilities.
