Salvos Stores are seeking to employ a Logistics Supervisor to lead the Transport and Distribution team based out of our Thornton Warehouse in Newcastle

  • This varied role presents a strong platform for a talented supply/warehouse professional seeking to enhance their skills and build a career in the Not For Profit sector;
  • ABOUT THE ROLE
  • Overseeing and managing the efficient and costeffective collection, receiving, sorting, storage and distribution of all stock and orders at both the warehouse and Stores.
  • Managing and supervising the daytoday activity and performance of a team of 30 (approx);
  • Managing warehouse and distribution facility including stock control, waste disposal maintenance, security, open/close; and, coordinating transport fleet and forklift maintenance and servicing;
  • Leading WHS compliance;
  • Maintaining a high level of customer service through continuous communication with external and internal stakeholders.
  • ABOUT YOU
  • A valid Australian Driver's Licence, truck (MR) or forklift licence;
  • Demonstrated experience in a Transport and Distribution Supervision role;
  • An understanding, empathy and appreciation of others with the ability to promote the values and ethos of The Salvation Army;
  • WHS knowledge of work health safety and workers compensation obligations.
