About the role:

Gastroenterology/Hepatology Operations Manager is a newly created leadership position in Medical Services at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. The role encompasses the management of the day-to-day operations of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology unit and will lead the development and implementation of strategies to optimise clinical service delivery and patient access, with a focus on providing optimal patient experience and achievement of key performance indicators, financial and activity targets.

  • We are seeking an experienced and dynamic clinical leader within the health care sector who has transferrable skills to manage the daily operations and implement new service delivery models and initiatives. With responsibility for managing the operations of a busy Gastroenterology/Hepatology service, you will have demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate positive patient outcomes with key stakeholders while managing competing demands

The success profile for role:


  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of working in an operational leadership role in an acute hospital environment
  • Demonstrated strong adaptable interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with all stakeholders
  • Proven experience in managing KPI datasets including monitoring of activity targets, human resource management
  • Be highly organised and can prioritise competing demands
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating and leading change with clinical teams and leaders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of innovative service delivery models and frameworks.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with solid budget management and funding experience.
  • High level analytical skills and ability to identify priority issues.
