SC1.

Showcased expertise in planning, decision-making, and resource management to establish an ICT strategy for a school or organization and effectively implement it within the daily functions of an ICT team.

SC2. Demonstrated track record of establishing objectives and priorities, tracking progress, and achieving deadlines and targets consistently.

SC3. Proven capability in leading, managing, and enhancing the capabilities of a team of employees.

SC4.

Ability to independently analyse, plan and implement new technologies as an integral part of education and evaluate its benefits to teaching and learning.

SC5.

Highly skilled and experienced in managing and deploying Computer network infrastructure (including Firewall/Proxy, Switches, Servers, Cloud Plaforms) and cyber security.

SC6. Proficient in collaborating productively with internal and external stakeholders.


Role:

Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction mínimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school.

Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.


Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.


An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor.

Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

Location Profile:


Wantirna College is a single campus Year 7-12 School of approximately 1490 students, situated in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, about 25 kilometres from the city centre.

The College was founded in 1980 and consists of a core of well-maintained brick buildings, with additional portable buildings, in an attractive garden setting spread throughout the spacious grounds with panoramic views of the Dandenong Ranges.

The College facilities include a new state of the art theatre, university style cafeteria, new and refurbished buildings that incorporate flexible open learning spaces as well as landscaped courtyards.

Wantirna College draws students from both local and surrounding primary schools.

Demand for places at the College has been consistently strong and as part of the enrolment strategy there is a Department of Education and Training approved enrolment ceiling of 1500 students.

Most of our students walk to school or are transported by their parents or buses.

The school family occupations index (SFO) is 0.35 and has remained fairly consistent over the last four years.

The Language Background Other than English (LBOTE) proportion is 0.13 and again has been consistent over a large number of years.

The College also has an international student program. This program takes approximately 20 overseas fee paying students largely from China and Vietnam.
