$72,751 - $88,336 (Plus Superannuation)

The Team

The position of Venue Operations Supervisor forms a part of the Global Partnerships &Projects Branch within the Global Victoria Group.

The Business Events and Venues team is responsible for facilitating inward and outbound missions; providing a service across Government to leverage and deliver events; and managing operations of the Investment Centre Victoria (ICV), International Chamber House (ICH) and the Corporate Centre (CC).

The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Global Victoria (GV) Venues, this position is responsible for assisting with the operations of the venues managed by Global Victoria.

The objective of the venues is to provide high quality meeting and function facilities for Government events.

The primary goal of most activities and events held at these venues is to profile Victoria's major competitive advantages as an international trade and investment location.


Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide a first point of contact onsite (including a reception presence), meet and greet executives and provide food and beverage services including barista coffee service for all small meetings.
  • Assist with the daytoday operations of the ICV including event bookings, administration, and event logistics to assist in the smooth running of events, ensuring all guest's expectations are accommodated and received in a timely manner whilst maintaining a high level of service.
  • Manage contracted staffing providers staff members including liaising with the staffing contractor to develop rosters, manage all service staff on site for events, providing induction and venue information and coordinating with various events suppliers and chefs. Delegate duties to team members and supervise the execution of those duties whilst ensuring they meet and exceed the guest's expectations.

You have proven experience in delivering venue operation and administration services, proven ability to collaborate and operate effectively in a team environment with tight timelines and in stressful situations.

You take pride in the workplace and ensure the venues are well maintained throughout events.
