Closing Date: 09/06/2023- Job Type: Temporary- Location: Raymond Terrace- Job Category: Administration & Office SupportSt Brigid's Primary School is seeking a temporary, part time (6 hrs/week) Administrative Officer to join the team on Friday's in semester 2.


St Brigid's Primary School, Raymond Terrace is located in the Hunter Region, a short 30-minute drive from Newcastle CBD and Port Stephens.

A school of 386 students catering for K-6, St Brigid's provides a place where the creative and individual talents of each student and teacher is greatly appreciated, embraced and encouraged.

Our school has a strong focus on promoting physical activity and healthy living through all aspects of school life.

The School Administrative Officer provides administrative support to school staff and the school principal.

Administrative Officers within the Catholic Schools Office, Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle may be classified as either a level 4,5 or 6.

Indicative duties for each of these levels can be found under the leadership framework - Administrative Support.


The teacher will promote the school as a place of learning and excellence in accordance with contemporary evidence-based learning and wellbeing principles (including digital learning) and will ensure the ongoing development and implementation of pedagogical practices that impact on student learning outcomes.

The teacher will acknowledge and agree to the requirement to work within the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

  • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and to actively supporting the Catholic ethos and culture of the school
  • Excellent written communication skills and strong verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience using initiative and selfmotivation in the workplace
  • Demonstrated ability in accurately and proficiently performing a wide range of administration tasks
  • Intermediate experience and ability to work with various databases, Microsoft office programs and excel
  • Demonstrated capacity to organise, prioritise and multitask to meet various deadlines
  • An understanding and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to work autonomously and be responsible and accountable for own work with the capacity and willingness to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to Comply or Compliance with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy. Category A
  • Accreditation to Work

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
  • Completion of Anaphylaxis training

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020.
