Depositions Officer, Records Management Services
Full Time, Fixed Term - up to 12 months

Records Management Services maintains and contributes to the Office's records and document systems and processes by facilitating recordkeeping best practice, and working with a large volume of electronic records, hardcopy documents and files.

Working collaboratively to provide expertise in people management, technology and a range of other support services the RMS team have a key role in modernising processes that have traditionally been manual and paper-based in nature.

The Depositions Officer will work within a team under the direction of the Depositions Coordinator.

The Depositions Officer is responsible for compiling depositions (a key document in the prosecution process) in a timely and accurate manner.


About the Role:


  • Compile depositions in an accurate and timely manner, including assessing the contents or briefs and liaising with solicitors to ensure all relevant documents are included and ensuring he correct transfer and distribution of depositions to solicitors, the courts and defence.
  • Identify and support opportunities for continuous improvement, including paperless initiatives, projects, committees and working groups.
  • Provide general administrative support as required and as directed by the Manager or Depositions Coordinator.
  • Experience working within a legal environment and / or knowledge of Government processes.
  • Knowledge and experience of an electronic document and records management system, preferably Microfocus Content Manager.
  • Experience in providing general administrative support.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
