The Role
Hudson has partnered with a federal government institute seeking the services of an experienced EL 1 Financial Reporting Officer. Previous government experience is not required.

If you are looking for a long-term non-ongoing contract and are based in Canberra, this may be the role for you

Duties:

Preparing financial statements and reports including content for the Annual Report, AuditAssurance Committee, Council and Portfolio Budget Statements.
Management of the day to day finance activities including accounts payable, receivable, travel,asset management, capital spending program, budgeting.
Ensuring financial and procurement activity is accurately recorded and is consistent with contracts, budgets, guidelines and accounting standards.
Assist with system implementation changes and business improvement activities.
Produce structured and adhoc reports, memos, policies, procedures and analysis on financial performance for internal and external stakeholders.
Overseeing /preparing taxation returns (including Business Activity Statements, FBT) and providing advice on tax issues
Provide timely and accurate advice and support to staff, management and clients.
Build and maintain effective relationships with contractors, consultants and internal andexternal stakeholders, including representing the finance team on internal and external workinggroups.
Contribute constructively to Institute wide projects including strategic and operational plans.
