To support this work, we are seeking a passionate and experienced leader to join our Workforce Intelligence and Talent Section in the People and Business Solutions Branch.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of tangible and substantive benefits for First Nations peoples and increase cultural safety in the workplace.

You will have dual responsibilities, working as the Agency's First Nations Liaison Officer and also Manager, Talent Acquisition. If you're an experienced leader passionate about leading transformational and cultural change, we encourage you to apply

As First Nations Liaison Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing the experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees, by:

  • Reducing the burden of cultural load First Nations employees carry stemming from the consultancy support they provide to the department on programs and policies that impact Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Implementing initiatives to improve career development and progression opportunities for First Nations employees.
  • Promoting greater cultural safety and providing culturally appropriate support to First Nations employees and their managers.
Under limited direction and with reasonable autonomy, you will be responsible for:

  • Consistent, timely and accurate recruitment operations for the agency.
  • Partnering with hiring managers to deliver a professional and mature approach to agency recruitment.
  • Coordination of agency probation activities.
  • Provide advice on recruitment best practices, APS policy requirements, legislation, market trends, and talent acquisition strategies.
