YOUR OPPORTUNITY:


We have an exciting opportunity for a
Network Asset Operator to join our Network Operations team based at our Bunya Street Depot.


This permanent, full-time position will see you providing technical support in relation to the operation of Urban Utilities' network water and wastewater assets.

These assets include reservoirs, water and sewage pump stations, trunk mains, reticulation, water filling stations, chlorine dosing stations and odour control units.

The role ensures that these assets operate efficiently so that Urban Utilities' can deliver its water and sewerage services to the community to the required standards without causing environmental harm in a safe, sustainable and economic manner.


The key accountabilities of this role include:

  • Operate and monitor the day-to-day operation of complex network assets under guidance to ensure compliance to relevant legislative requirements
  • Perform operational checks on odour scrubbing equipment and chlorination dosing activities
  • Place, setup and collate data from field data logging equipment
  • Perform customer interactions regarding field activities
  • Conduct complex network configuration changes and investigations under guidance
  • Perform investigations, fault finding, and regular inspections to ensure the optimal performance of water and sewer networks
  • Utilize detailed SCADA and operational technologies, such as CitecSCADA and IoT devices, to perform the operation of a full range of water and sewer network assets in accordance with defined plans, ensuring operational needs are met


The role will be allocated operational project/assignments across all functional areas of the branch and will be required to perform in other roles (at grade) with similar skill sets within the branch.

The incumbent will be required to work on shifts or an "On Call" Roster System and/or to work at any Urban Utilities location as required by business needs


ABOUT YOU:


  • Certificate III in water and wastewater operations and/or Trade Certificate (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent other relevant technical certification
  • Current Confined Space Entry & Working at Heights Certification
  • Current Open C Class Drivers licence (Manual)
  • Sound knowledge of water and sewerage networks and the operation and maintenance of water and sewerage assets
  • Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and navigate customer interactions in a facetoface setting, creating positive, defining moments
  • Availability to perform shift work or an "On Call" roster system and to work at any Urban Utilities location as require by the business needs
