Description

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Quality Lead to oversee the quality inspection team and ensure the efficient completion of projects in the Pilbara region.

This position entails the establishment and management of systems and processes that ensure the adherence to sustaining capital projects in support of mining operations for iron ore production.


About this role

You will be based out of the head office located in Perth and your role will include weekly adhoc site travel.

Your responsibility will involve leading the ~3 quality inspectors and coaching ~12-15 project leads and construction supervisors in quality best practice and execution.

You will ensure standardization and consistency of project quality delivery and drive a culture of project quality leadership and accountability.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Establishing and maintaining quality systems and processes
  • Onboarding and allocating quality inspectors to support the implementation of the portfolio
  • Coordinating with project leads to ensure consistent implementation of quality practices
  • Review of contractor submitted quality documentation
  • Monitoring and managing project quality performance and adherence to contractual obligations
  • Conducting periodic audits and inspections of project packages
  • Compiling weekly and monthly progress reports and statistical data analysis
  • Collaborating with other divisional quality leads to share lessons learnt, improvement initiatives, and resources

About you

  • 8+ years' experience in a similar Quality Management role
  • Tertiary Qualification in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or Construction Management preferred
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office software packages
  • Good understanding and knowledge of welding and NDT activities; multidiscipline experience highly desirable
  • Recent experience leading a Quality Management function in the heavy industrial Engineering Construction sector is essential
  • Knowledge of Australian standards (eg AS/NZS 9001:2015) industry codes and procedures is essential
  • Internal and/or Lead Auditors qualification desirable
