What the role will offer you


In this role you will coordinate the project for renaming of Water Corporation assets and identify opportunities for interpretive signage at Water Corporation sites.

Working collaboratively with internal and external Aboriginal stakeholders to help develop ideas and concepts into deliverable projects to up-lift cultural awareness, develop cultural competency and recognise the importance of Country and Aboriginal Culture.


Here are some key tasks that you'll do:

  • Coordinate project management and support activities to contribute to the development and delivery of a range of projects in line with Water Corporation's Reconciliation Action Plan and internal Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow relationships strategy
  • Coordinate a cultural assessment and acknowledgement of history of Water Corporation assets and sites
  • In collaboration with Internal and External stakeholders identify project opportunities:
  • Develop plan for interpretive signage at Water Corporation sites to strengthen connections, relationships, awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island culture and knowledge
  • Develop a plan to install interpretive signage along existing walking trails that acknowledges the local Aboriginal history and culture.
  • Develop a process and plan for dual naming of Water Corporation sites and assets.
  • Establish a network of Aboriginal community stakeholders to gain their input and inform Water Corporation to embed Aboriginal views and values into dual or naming of Water Corporation's assets and sites

Your skills and experience:

There are a few things we'll look for in your CV:

  • This position is pursuant of Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, the occupant of this position must be of Australian Aboriginal descent
  • Considerable experience in project management principles and practices along with project management skills
  • Relevant experience and knowledge of Aboriginal culture, history and impacts of past and present policies
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of past policies and legislations impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with and build relationships with customers, contractors and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated communication skills, with the ability to inspire and deliver clear and consistent messaging and expectations. Ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders
  • High levels of personal responsibility and accountability with strong focus on results delivery.
  • Welldeveloped conceptual and analytical skills
  • Passion and drive to champion Aboriginal advancement
