Position Summary
The Data Governance Group (DGG) manages the AIHW's data and corporate governance. It works to build
and enhance national data and information governance infrastructures and leads engagement with
ministers and senior government health officials on national health data and information strategies. DGG
provides expert assistance for national health and welfare metadata and manages Metadata Online
Repository (METEOR), our online national metadata repository. The WHO Family of International
Classifications Australian Collaborating Centre is run out of DGG with staff working closely with WHO
colleagues on the development of international health classifications.
The Metadata, Information Management and Classifications Unit (MIMCU) supports AIHW's information and
records management, metadata capability, METEOR platform, and contributes to Health Classifications
development.
The Data Governance Group is looking for an experienced Information Management Manager.
Under general direction you will:
- Work collaboratively across the institute to build organisational information management capability,
AIHW's Information Management Framework within M36- Manage AIHW's ongoing information management strategy, including maintenance and review of
policies and procedures, undertaking auditing, and reporting functions, and developing training
strategies.
- Develop collaborative relationships within key business delivery units to enable the effective
- Provide leadership for the information management services team, including the AIHW library
- Provide advice on the compliant management of Commonwealth records in line with the
transformation agenda and the 'Building Trust in the Public Record Policy.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities to deliver on the
