We have an opportunity for a Manager Market Access to be part of our Biosecurity Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.


The Manager, Market Access and Systems, contributes to the goals and objectives of the Plant Biosecurity program by leading the critical plant and plant product market access programs and projects.

The position is responsible for leading a team to implement state-wide import and export market access arrangements, including certification, registration, accreditation, import verification, and the development, negotiation, and implementation of other market access-based systems and projects.

This includes implementing and maintaining nationally developed arrangements such as the Interstate Certification Assurance (ICA) scheme and Export Certification, which provides access for SA produce to interstate and export markets.


The Manager, Market Access and Systems is responsible for managing and developing a range of resources, staff, and infrastructure, including being accountable for the integrity and maintenance of the Plant Biosecurity aspects of the PIIMS database, which houses information relating to plant biosecurity related accreditations and registrations, the Plant Biosecurity Auditing Program, the SIS and PIIMS Invoicing requirements and the Genetically Modified Organisms Monitoring Program.

Special Conditions

  • Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
  • Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).

Requirements:


  • Possession of a current driver's licence and willingness to drive.
  • Outofhours work, and inter / intrastate travel may be required, along with some overtime/weekend work.
  • The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
  • The incumbent will be required to maintain a safe working environment by adopting appropriate hazard management practices consistent with the role.
  • Location of the role is at the Biosecurity, Glenside office, but the incumbent may be required to relocate within South Australia.

Remuneration
***ASO6 - $97,022 min - $102,626 max per annum, plus superannuation
