About the opportunity to successfully, enrol students, develop and open a new campus:
Hester Hornbrook Academy is currently constructing a new Campus in Werribee, due to open to students in 2025.

To allow for the successful development, enrolment of students and opening of this Campus, Hester Hornbrook is looking to employ a Head of Campus to begin working as part of the Executive Leadership Team in 2024.

This will ensure a throughout induction, enrolment of students and connection with key stakeholder can occur in preparation for the beginning of the 2025 school year.

As a leader at Hester Hornbrook ,the Head of Campus (HOC) is primarily responsible for leadership and day to day operations of their designated campus.

They are required to work collaboratively with the campus Wellbeing Team Leaders to ensure that every student has access to high quality learning for wellbeing and wellbeing for learning, to ensure positive pathways post secondary school.

Core to this role is managing and supporting the multidisciplinary classroom teams of the Hester Hornbrook Academy at the campus.

The Head of Campus will also lead the delivery of a diverse range of transition and engagement initiatives in order to increase student engagement, attendance at school and promote high expectations in terms of outcomes and improvements in individual wellbeing and learning success.

The Head of Campus will be responsible for developing local networks to ensure sustained referral paths and to maintain full enrolments.

They will also be required to identify means to increase parent/carer participation and to promote Hester Hornbrook in order to develop new and existing relationships.

The Head of Campus will work with the rest of the Executive Leadership Team to establish a culture of improvement and feedback to ensure high quality teaching and learning in the areas of literacy and numeracy and student outcomes and to ensure that wellbeing strategies are individualised to ensure student attendance for learning.

The Head of Campus will lead the development of an area of the Strategic Plan/Annual Implementation Plan and advise in areas relating to the leadership and support for classroom teams, enrolments and student management and wellbeing.

The position also has responsibility of policy development, implementation and ongoing compliance.

As a key member of the Hester Hornbrook leadership team, the role contributes to leadership planning and decision making by offering a strategic overview to the necessary requirements for high quality teaching and learning.

The Head of Campus will be required to support staff to develop processes to embed effective student engagement, increasing attendance and wellbeing.

They may also be required to lead an additional MCM/Hester Hornbrook program as required.

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, both on campus and as part of the Executive Leadership Team to develop and maintain a face to face and virtual classroom learning environment which places high expectation on learning for wellbeing and wellbeing for learning. The Head of Campus will support and model a learning environment which is safe, respectful and productive.
  • Participate in the student enrolment and staff recruitment required for the operation of a Hester Hornbrook Academy campus.
  • Operationally lead and manage all activities involving staff and students on their designated campus to ensure safety and compliance, including providing leadership of all Duty of Care, Occupational Health and Safety, and Child Safe requirements for their designated campus.
  • Ensure good financial management of all program budgets and related expenditure for their campus to provide effective leadership, development and implementation of all areas of the Strategic Plan to ensure the students achieves success in VPC, VCE, VET, Wellbeing and Post-Secondary Pathways.
  • Display the ability to collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to understand, support and drive positive improvements in the wellbeing of young people in an educational environment.
  • Contribute to the planning and participate in the extra curricular activities, events, excursions and overnight camps.
  • Maintaining accurate records using the school's Student Management system and learning management systems including: regular wellbeing case noting and prepare/ contribute to reports (including NCCD) as required.
  • Participate in regular supervision, whole school and campus meetings, the performance review processes, professional learning and a culture of continuous review, improvement of student learning outcomes and achievement of the Hester Hornbrook Strategic Plan (SP) and Annual Implementation Plans (AIP).
  • Ensure that all Child Safe, risk management and Hester Hornbrook documentation is adhered to.
