About the role


Ventia's Defence Base Services (DBS) team are seeking a suitably experienced Warehouse
Site Leader for their Clothing Retail Store facility based at HMAS Stirling in Rockingham.

Regular travel throughout the base facilities will be required to carry out work related tasks.


As the Site Leader your main responsibilities will be to lead and administer a small team of staff to ensure the clothing store facility operates smoothly.

Working collaboratively in a small team, you will be responsible for managing the supply chain process and handling customer orders and interactions.

You will also take inventory of the warehouse stock, perform quality assurance checks and implement safety regulations.


About you


Reporting directly into the Retail Store Services Regional Manager, you are an experienced Leader who has a thorough understanding of end-to-end warehouse operations.

You are detail oriented, organised and always ensure adherence to all safety practices and demonstrate excellent communication and time management skills.

Previous experience in a warehouse role is preferable, ideally in Defence or similar service industry.


Key duties, but not limited to:

  • Manage and process all goods in and goods out from receipting through to despatch and ensure the accuracy of the processing of paperwork
  • Receipting inbound goods, checking goods & stock allocation
  • Undertake stock takes as required and justification of any stock discrepancies
  • Provide direction, mentoring and training to staff to develop their skills and performance
  • Purchase order requesting, data entry and monthly reporting through our operating system (SAP & Ariba)
  • Comply with and maintain industry best practice housekeeping and stock security standards, including ensuring the storage and distribution site is secured daily
  • Maintain all equipment for normal operation and ensure the safe use of
  • Managing incoming/outgoing calls & communication with customers & stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to and meeting strict safety standards and quality control as per Occupational Health & Safety guidelines.

Skills & experience:


  • Previous experience in a warehouse stores environment, in Defence or similar service industry preferred
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced and demanding environment whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to work to strict time constraints
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, SAP & Ariba knowledge will be highly regarded
  • Experience maintaining professional relationships with internal and external customers
  • Oversee and contribute to the review and development of process improvements
  • Must be reliable and able to meet the physical requirements of the role
  • Current & Valid Drivers licence is essential.

Other special conditions
The incumbent to this position must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen.

This position requires a National Police check and a valid Australian driver's licence.
