About Us


The Women's and Children's Hospital provides state of the art health care for women and children in Adelaide and South Australia.


It is the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions and SA's largest maternity and obstetric service.

It also provides important community-based services of which CAMHS is an integral part.


The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs


CAMHS provides services to:

infants / children / young people up to in some areas) for community, statewide and hospital-based services for perinatal women.


CAMHS Connect is the triage service for
CAMHS in SA and provides a consistent phone entry point for consumers and standardise referral management across
CAMHS. Connect staff will undertake phone triage and make recommendations for ongoing mental health support where appropriate. Including to
CAMHS teams and other mental health services.


The Opportunity


We have an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified and
registered RN2 Mental Health Nurse/AHP2 Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or
Psychologist to join
CAMHS Connect in a full time capacity, on a
short term contract up to
31 Dec 2023.


Within the framework of the National Mental Health Policy and the Standards for Mental Health Services and in a manner consistent with the stated Vision and Values of the
Women's and Children's Health Network (WCHN),
the CAMHS Clinician -
Mental Health Clinical Nurse, is operationally accountable to the Services Manager via the Clinical Coordinator and professionally to the Nurse Consultant, for delivering direct child and adolescent mental health care to consumers with complex needs.


The AHP2 provides clinical expertise for children, adolescents and their families with mental health issues.

The
AHP2 primarily provides direct expert care for an individual or group of clients and/or providing clinical leadership to multidisciplinary staff.


The CAMHS Clinician - Clinical Mental Health Nurse accepts accountability for the outcomes of clinical practice for children, adolescents and their families with mental health issues and for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy. The
CAMHS
Clinician -
Clinical Mental Health Nurse is responsible and accountable for their own practice standards and activities they delegate to others. The provision of assessment, education, counselling and group work is considered essential components of care which is directed towards the attainment of optimum consumer health and recovery. This involves consultation and liaison with other professional disciplines and nongovernmental organisations.
