Our National client is the largest marketer, wholesaler and distributor of healthcare, medical and pharmaceutical products, consumer products and animal care brands.


They are currently recruiting for 2 x Category Assistants, to support key aspects of the Merchandise function and execution of category strategy.

Reporting to the Category Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with planning, pricing, margin management and promotion across a wide portfolio.

You will be required to communicate regularly to our Supplier Partners and Franchise network.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Preparation of Category Review Packs
  • Assist with ranging decisions, set retail pricing and have the ability to analyse data and make preliminary recommendations to the Category Managers
  • Maintenance of Managed Range products including pricing, margin, planograms, images and data integrity
  • Promotional due diligence including print and digital activity
  • Prepare all supplier planning strategy presentations and documentation
  • Sales analysis and Category performance reporting
  • Critical path time management to ensure deadlines are met
  • Internal and external stakeholder communications
  • Build strong business relationships with our Supplier Partners and the Support Office team

Skills and Experience:


  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office
  • Excel, PowerBI, Word, Teams, Powerpoint
    (Excel essential):
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and planning skills
  • High quality business acumen and strong communication skills
  • Selfmotivator with an ability to prioritise and manage time effectively in a fastpaced environment
  • An understanding of healthcare or FMCG desired
  • To be successful in this role, a strong sense of teamwork, integrity, initiative, and high work standards are required
