ABOUT US:

Pegasus Care has been a staffing specialist for the Community Services Sector since 2002.


We are currently recruiting for one of our major Business Partners and have multiple opportunities available for dedicated Therapeutic Youth Workers (Trauma Specialists) to join our team.


We are currently looking for people who can commit to regular casual rostered hours (min 4 days per week) working with our Business Partners supporting children/young people in out-of-home care.


ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:


You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team and will be responsible for creating a healing environment through the provision of trauma-informed care to children and young people residing in crisis/temporary out-of-home care.


The program aims to successfully set the children/young people up to transition to an appropriate living environment in the future.


ABOUT YOU:


  • To be considered for this position, you will hold a minimum qualification of a Diploma in Youth or a Community Services related field.
  • You must have demonstrated experience working with children and young people in outofhome care and you will have an understanding of the Legislation relevant to the role.
  • Due to the nature of the role, you will have experience in working with children and young people in accommodations and with high and complex needs.
  • You will need to be empathetic and resilient, whilst maintaining assertiveness and confidence in your abilities as well as maintaining a high level of selfcare.
  • Additionally, you need to have highly developed communication skills (both written and verbal), good interpersonal skills, crisismanagement knowledge and intermediate computer skills. Disability and Mental Health experience will also be highly regarded.

Position:
THERAPEUTIC YOUTH WORKER/TRAUMA SPECIALIST (PT)

  • NSW Working With Children Check.
  • NDIS Worker Clearance Check.
  • Evidence of Australian Citizenship/Permanent Residency.
  • National Police Check. (less than six months old)
  • Current NSW Drivers License.
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certificate.
  • Evidence of immunization against covid1
  • Completed NDIS "Worker Orientation Module
  • Quality, Safety & You". (online)
  • Comprehensive Car Insurance and evidence of vehicle registration.

Please note:

It is a legislative requirement by the OCG, that all persons working in this sector agree to provide the information required for placement on the Residential Care Worker Register.

It is also a requirement of this Business Partner that staff hold Australian Citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency and that staff are vaccinated against covid19.
