We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced pharmaceutical account manager to join our Haematology team in NSW as a Haematology Business Manager.


What you'll do
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will be responsible for a defined territory - NSW north.

There are several key focuses in this role in line with the Haematology franchise and strategy as we continue to evolve in line with customer and patient needs.

The successful applicant will be fully empowered and have complete responsibility for building and owning Account Plans in collaboration with the cross functional team, to exceed customer expectations and generate outstanding commercial outcomes.


You will be joining an exceptionally cohesive and supportive team which has delivered extraordinary sales results, where exceeding expectations is expected, and challenging the traditional way of interacting with our customers is the norm.

Decision making, flexibility and problem solving will be the crucial to your individual success.

Strong commercial acumen, innovative thinking and proven hospital sales experience are also essential to be successful in this critically important role.


As a Haematology Business Manager, you will:

  • Work with the National Sales Manager (NSM) and Cross Functional Team (CFT) to develop strategies for each account / stakeholder to meet targets, aligned to brand strategy, within the governmental and regulatory environment
  • Develop an overall business plan to meet targets and further improve positioning of AZ's Haematology products
  • Engage Haematology HCPs in dialogue about approved indications, product efficacy / safety profiles and treatment protocols to support onlabel prescribing for appropriate patients
  • Act as an educational resource to internal colleagues, e.g., document account insights and share with the crossfunctional team
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, contract terms, rebate lists and discounts with key accounts
  • Embrace our digital tools to create excellent customer engagement

Essential for the role

  • Tertiary qualification, preferably in life sciences, medical or pharmacy
  • Experience as a pharmaceutical sales representative in Haematology (ideal), including proven track record of successfully managing key accounts
  • Experience with a broad base of external customers in the NSW health network, including patients, prescribers, payors, providers
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills and demonstrated project/team/crossfunctional leadership
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills and ability to selfmanage
  • Experience in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences

Desirable for the role

  • A track record of successfully developing key accounts including tendering experience and sound knowledge of protocol
  • Demonstrated exposure of building long positive relationships with both internal and external customers in complex clinical environments
  • The ability to think strategically and be entrepreneurial
