Come join Group Linen Services, as a Linen Operational Officer where you will distribute clean linen and collection of soiled linen throughout Princess Alexandra Hospital.


Your key responsibilties:


  • Ability to communicate effectively individually or in team situations.
Identify and sort soiled linen to be processed for washing.

  • Processing linen into industrial laundry machinery for folding and ironing needs or processing linen manually by hand.
  • Packing clean linen onto imprest trolleys for hospital stakeholders using GLS handheld systems.
  • Distribution of clean linen and collection of soiled linen throughout Princess Alexandra Hospital.
  • Safe operation of tug equipment.
  • Identify and document mechanical repairs to GLS Trade Assistant (Trolley Maintenance) to meet quality assurance, material handling and safety requirements.
  • Comply with requirements of Workplace Health and Safety, emergency lock out procedures, and safe use of chemicals.
  • General cleaning duties, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, rubbish collection and removal in all areas of the facility.
  • Other cleaning duties as required.

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements:


  • Hepatitis B Mandatory Vaccination Requirement
  • It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment (Health Employment Directive No. 01/16): measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B, tuberculosis.
  • COVID19 Mandatory Vaccination Requirement, It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID19 (Health Employment Directive No. 12/21 and Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70).
  • While not mandatory, previous laundry / production experience will be well regarded.
  • Please detail any visa conditions you may have if you are not a permanent resident of Australia.
