Your role at St John of God St John of God Berwick Hospital
The Manager Perioperative Services, in conjunction with the Director of Nursing, is responsible for effective leadership, coordination, integration and direction in the management of human, financial and material resources of the Peri-Operative Services, including the Theatres, Endoscopy, PACU, Supply, CSSD and Cardiovascular Interventional Laboratory (CVIL).
The Manager Perioperative Services supports and promotes the development and growth of core business and new specialties in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and Chief Executive Officer.
The Position- Ensure master staff roster is developed in the most appropriate manner to cover peri-operative services in accordance with relevant award/EBA requirements.- Ensure daily, weekly and monthly productivity targets are achieved or strategies implemented to rectify.- Ensure that all aspects of patient care are performed by authorised, competent and educated caregivers.- Daily monitoring of staff utilisation to ensure targets are achieved and activity fluctuations managed efficiently, including the limited use of casual staff.- Oversee coordinate medical scheduling of the theatre suite.- Monitors Theatre Utilisation to enhance efficiency and allocation of surgical sessions in line with the strategic direction of the hospital.- Collect, analyse and disseminate information/data to Director of Nursing and CEO that will ensure best utilisation of theatres and Endoscopy- Ensure Care is delivered in accordance with clinical practice guidelines as defined by SJGHC Policy, ACORN standards, GENCA, ACHS and Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care- Strategically plan to monitor and improve clinical outcomes.- Identify areas of high cost and report to Director of Nursing and Director of Finance.
You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with demonstrated Experience at a senior management level including strategic financial and people management responsibilities.
Being a leader, you will have demonstrated ability to build a team and have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to resolve conflicts and disputes.
