Your new role awaits


This role is accountable for the effective operation of a portfolio of NAB's Australian subsidiaries (as assigned from time to time) by providing company secretariat and corporate governance compliance services to these subsidiaries.

This is a part time role (4 days per week) and we want someone with energy and resilience, someone who can foster collaboration in a dynamic environment with some interstate travel.


Key responsibilities:


  • Duties of a Company Secretary, as required by the Corporations Act, each of the Constitutions and other relevant obligations.
  • Compliance with corporate governance and legal obligations for each of the NAB Australian subsidiary boards, including preparation of minutes and maintaining corporate records.
  • Effective operation of NAB Australian subsidiary boards within the portfolio.
  • Other corporate governance tasks assigned by the Head of Subsidiary Governance.
  • Undertake subsidiary reporting requirements as needed.

What you will bring:


Holding relevant tertiary qualifications, you have superb stakeholder management skills with the ability to build credibility with stakeholders and business partners underpinned by first class communication and influencing skills.


You come to us with:

  • 5+ years relevant experience as a Company Secretary, having a legal background (preferable) or other relevant professional qualification
  • Deep and practical understanding of good governance practices having previously worked in a Legal, Governance or Risk department of a major corporation
  • Knowledge of Corporations legislation and other corporate governance requirements, and how they impact a company's day to day administration and governance
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on a variety of matters, from complex to routine matters, and the ability to manage a diverse range of issues and priorities simultaneously
  • Willingness to work closely with and support other governance professionals with varying levels of experience in the team
  • Proven record as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills to navigate complex topics.
